InBody, Max Pulse, blood pressure monitor and InGrip: how these measurements fit together

The question “which measurement is best” sounds logical, but it misses the point. InBody 970, InGrip, BPBIO750 and Max Pulse are not competitors. Each reads a different layer: body composition, functional strength, blood pressure and regulatory or vascular context.

InBody, Max Pulse, blood pressure monitor and InGrip: how these measurements fit together

Start with the question you want to answer

If you want to know what body weight is made of, InBody is the natural start. If you want functional strength, add InGrip. If you care about pressure and pulse, add BPBIO750. Max Pulse adds pulse-wave context and pulse-rate variability (PRV) derived from an optical PPG signal, which the device labels as HRV. This is not the same as diagnostic ECG.

The devices are most useful when the measurement matches the question, not when every number is collected without a reason.

Together, they create a broader picture than one isolated metric.

What each device adds

InBody 970 shows body composition: muscle, fat, water, segments and trend. InGrip adds practical grip strength. BPBIO750 shows blood pressure and pulse context. Max Pulse adds pulse-wave and resting PRV context with device-derived autonomic scores; those proprietary scores are not a diagnosis.

None of these devices replaces medical assessment. They are practical measurement layers that help you ask better questions.

The strongest interpretation comes when values are repeated under similar conditions and read next to real routine.

Four layers of the visit
AreaMain questionUseful context
InBody 970What is body weight made of?Muscle, fat, water, segments and body-composition trend.
InGripHow does muscle capacity show as grip strength?Functional strength next to muscle mass.
BPBIO750What is the resting pressure and pulse picture?Systolic, diastolic, pulse and supporting pressure values.
Max PulseWhat is the pulse-wave and resting PRV context?Device-derived stress, regulation and vascular-signal context.

When Premium makes sense

Premium makes sense when one InBody result is not enough context for the decision you want to make. It adds other on-site measurements to the same visit.

For fat loss, InBody may be the main layer. For active aging or return after a pause, InBody plus InGrip may be especially useful. For stress, fatigue or recovery questions, Max Pulse can add context. For pressure concerns, BPBIO750 gives a quick resting value.

The goal is not more data for its own sake, but a more usable picture.

When measurement is not enough

Chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, known arrhythmia, repeatedly very high blood pressure or other warning symptoms require healthcare follow-up.

The measurement stack can support routine decisions and trend tracking, but it is not a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment.

Keep the structural, functional and resting signals separate

Start with weight, SMM, fat mass and water from InBody; use segments to examine distribution. InGrip adds a standardized grip-force test, so stable muscle estimates can be compared with changing function. A weaker grip does not by itself prove muscle loss or sarcopenia.

BPBIO750 provides systolic and diastolic pressure, pulse and derived pressure context. Max Pulse uses a finger pulse signal for pulse-wave and resting PRV information. Its autonomic or vascular scores are device-derived interpretations; they do not establish a diagnosis, a biological age or a complete measure of recovery.

Choose follow-up around the question

For body recomposition, follow fat and muscle alongside training. For aging or return after illness, add function and grip. For resting pressure, use an appropriate repeated blood-pressure protocol; for recovery questions, record sleep, recent load and how you feel alongside a comparable resting Max Pulse measurement.

All four measurements need preparation and repeatability. More outputs cannot compensate for different test conditions, and a reassuring score must never outweigh warning symptoms or replace medical follow-up.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which measurement should I start with?

For most people, InBody 970 is the natural starting point because it shows body composition. Add other devices according to the question.

Can the devices show different stories?

Yes. Body composition can be stable while grip strength, blood pressure or HRV context changes. That is why the layers complement each other.

When should I solve results medically?

Chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, known arrhythmia, repeatedly very high blood pressure or other warning symptoms need healthcare follow-up.

Start with the right layer and add context when useful

The most natural entry point is usually InBody 970. Depending on your goal, InGrip, BPBIO750 or Max Pulse can add context so the result is not one isolated metric.
